BALLOTON BLOWN
The blown glass is worked by hand according to the traditional balloton technique using a metal mould to create a cross-relief effect.
“It looks soft, but it is still glass. The optical illusion of VENINI’s Monofiori from 1970 lies in its name: Balloton, a special processing technique that gives the glass surface a unique matelassé effect. The piece is hand crafted, blown in a typical metal mould and embellished with a hot-applied line of colour on its narrow neck.”
